Taxidermy Courses

Our taxidermy courses are limited to four students at a time. This is to allow enough one-on-one training for our students to learn what they wish to learn. Our desire is to see you succeed whether you're beginning a new hobby or a new career.

For example, if you are not interested in certain things, you can omit them altogether and focus more time on what you are interested in.

At our school you have two course options to choose from:

Option 1:

You will be responsible for providing and choosing the animals you wish to mount. The school can help you find some animals if needed.

Most students strive to mount the following animals for a well rounded education while attending:

  • 2 gameheads
  • 2 lifesize animals
  • 2 birds (1 flying and 1 standing)
  • 1 reproduction fish
  • 1 rug
  • 2 antler plaque mounts (different styles)
  • 1 skull / european mount
  • 1 soft tanned hide
  • you will tan all the hides you mount
  • bases  and habitat for your projects

You will also be responsible for purchasing all of your materials for these mounts (you will order these from supply companies while you are at school).

What you spend is hard to pinpoint since every student chooses different projects and every project costs a different amount.

Here's what you can expect to spend with option 1:

 Tuition -$3400

Lodging (optional) - $300

Animals (if you need to purchase all listed above) - Approximately $800 - $1500

Materials - approximately $1000 - $1500

 Option 2:

The school will provide everything for you including animals, materials, lodging and tuition. We will provide as many of the following listed animals and materials that you can complete while at school. You may choose to remove some projects from the list to do more of others at the instructors discretion.

  • 2 gameheads
  • 2 lifesize animals
  • 2 birds (1 flying and 1 standing)
  • 1 reproduction fish
  • 1 rug
  • 1 skull / european mount
  • 1 soft tanned hide
  • you will tan all the hides you mount
  • bases and habitat for your projects

This option is designed for those who wish to simply learn all areas of taxidermy and possibly begin their own business.

 Total cost for option 2:

$6000

(Animals provided are chosen by the school. Requests of specific animals may make this cost more)
